December 2000

So, Christmas has now been and is nearly gone - time for another update to Diddly's Diary, there was a lovely coating of snow everywhere this morning (28/12/00), very festive !!

Whee have had a worrying couple of wheeks as Mouse has been unwell, she was fluffed up and sad and whee took her to the CCT where she stayed for a couple of days. Nothing specific was found wrong so she came back home but then stopped eating and pooping (whee knew something was wrong !). She was eating a little green veggies and whee syringe fed her for a few days (after receiving lots of helpful advice from the lovely piggy people of the GPDD) and she has now begun to nibble hay & spilt biddy-bid seed. She has been near the GP mix bowl but hasn't tucked in yet as far as whee can see but she seems so much happier in herself, whee are so happy !!

• Latest update on Mouse (28/12/00) - Mouse is eating everything now, and is perkier in herself but hasn't put any weight on yet (she's at 2lbs), I would say she is 90% better, I will be taking her back to the CCT in January, with Mop & Trixie for a checkup. Be sure to check here to see how she gets on.

So far this month: Whee have -

• Added some new pigtures, they are on their own page for now and will be moved to their respective piggies pages when more new ones arrive.
• The Wheekies took part in the Winter Piggylimpics held by Helen & the Chompers over the wheekend of 8th - 10th December 2000. Be sure to check Helens site to see how whee got on - whee got loads of medals !
• Trixie can also be found Jet-skiing at Debbie & the Seaside piggies site !! I don't know, the things these piggies get up to !!
• The Wheekies have gone on a <virtual> trip to Paris (27/12/00) on the new airship Pigasus owned by April & Morag's slave Trev, they are due back New Years Eve !! If you havn't signed up to the GPDD yet, make sure you do and your piggies may be lucky enough to go on an adventure too !
• I've had the counter now for 2 months - Current count is: 568 ! !

November 2000

So far this month: I have -

• Added the Links section with many links already in place for Rescue Centres / GP Health / GP Gifts / Fun & Games & Piggy Sites that I like to visit plus links to places where I get my supplies from & other useful supplies you may want to get. Also some links to useful sites with good cage ideas & piggy sounds, pictures of breeds etc.
• Added a section on Breeding.
• Updated some of the existing pages - also putting a 'Last Updated' Date at the bottom of the pages.
• Added a few piggy gif images to break up the writing a bit - I got the gif's from here and here.
• 23/11/00 - I think I have now added my URL to an Open Directory which you add info about your site to and then after it is reviewed it should get listed within lots of search engines !! I'll cross my fingers - watch this space !! I shall be so excited if I do a search and find my site !!
• I've also finally worked out how to add a link in to: e-mail Diddly-Di & The Wheekies !
• I've had the counter now for 1 month - Current count is: 385 !
• Whee have made a start on the Healthcheck pages !

October 2000

Well, October 2000 saw the birth of Diddly-Di's Piggy Pages ! This is my first attempt at a web site and it is all new to me, I've just about mastered the basics (writing, pictures & links) ! I didn't have any idea of what I was going to do (apart from it was going to be about my piggies), I guess I just wanted somewhere originally where I could put pictures of my piggies so other people could share them. I then found that after I had put a few photos on I wanted to include some information about them and also information about how I care for my Guinea Pigs in general. As I started writing pages the other pages just naturally followed on as I thought of other things to add. The site has just naturally evolved over the last month. Really, the site is all about my experiences with my piggies.

First to come was pictures of my piggies, then I though - if I didn't know about piggies and wanted to get one, what would I need to know ? So, I added information about buying a new piggy then getting to know her and where to house her and how to feed her based on my experiences. I'm just starting to compile my Links pages - these will be links that I myself find useful and so hopefully they will be useful for other piggy people too !

I have just worked out how to add a visitor counter to my site (28/10/00) so that is the newest addition !! (although I'm not sure it's working quite right yet !). I got the counter from here.

I think one of the nicest things so far about having this site is the unexpected emails I have received from people that I have never met, from Europe & America (so far !) - recounting stories about their pets or sharing information with me, it has been a real pleasure ! I'm not added to any search engines yet (although I have posted my address on the GPDD) so it is also nice to know that somewhere, someone is passing my site address around !
