So far this month whee have...

• Continued loading up the individual Piggies In The Sky - sisters Mop and Tiger have been added this morning.
• Splat continues to recover well from her URI. There were loads up updates in the last few days of February so scroll down and make sure you didn't miss them !
• Ally's Piggy In The Sky page is now up, as is Snowballs. Felicity's page is now up too so all the Piggy In The Sky pages are loaded and accessible from the main Contents page [in order of when they came to live with me]. I have to say it is so lovely to see all their pics back up on the site - I know they were up, one pic each on the Piggy In The Sky menu page [in the order that they passed over the rainbow] but it is great to have all their individual pages back, I hope you'll agree !
• The next section of the site I hope to be working on will be updating the 'Buying a Piggy' section and then refreshing/updating the FAQ section as they both need a little spring-cleaning ! After that I'll be working my way down through each section tweaking where required [hopefully!]. Please don't forget that I can very rarely respond directly to emails. It may take me some time !
• Updated the Daily Routine page - mostly I've added lots of pics and had a general tidy rather than changing too much of the content. I hadn't updated that particular page since 30/11/00 !!! Also updated the Introductions page - that hadn't been updated for about 5 years - tons of pics to illustrate how we introduce new Wheekies...... !!
• I've tidied up the 'Making an Outside Run' page as it was looking a bit disorganised - much neater now !
• Updated the 'How do I buy a new Guinea Pig' page and also the 'New Arrival' page - how to handle those first few days - and I've added some cute pictures - these pages hadn't been updated since 2001 so were well due a little tidying !
• 07/03/06: Well, I'm so sorry to announce the passing of Billy. Chunky, happy, little chortling chubby cheeked piggy, we are missing you so much xxxxxx
• After Splat's URI last month you can imagine my concern when on Monday afternoon I noticed Billy was looking a little quiet, I tried to convince myself I was being paranoid but by 2pm on Tuesday, despite our best efforts, my big fat-lad of love had passed over the Rainbow Bridge, I was able to be with him, stroking him throughout which I am so grateful for. He has been laid to rest with a slice of cucumber, you know how he likes his food. Little Splattie is very quiet and confused, as can be expected. I am just hoping that she can hold up, what her URI, her tumour and now losing her snuggly duvet partner, it's a lot for a little pig to deal with. She's been getting lots of cuddles.
• We've been tidying up and adding new pics onto the Breeds & Varieties page - I've found most types now but still have a few pics missing ! [the yellow and orange background might be a bit bright lol ?] there are also some old pics I have found of some piggies that have been long over the Rainbow that I've added to the Group#2 pics page - aww Mouse and Squirt especially - it's so lovely to see my old piggies ! Also had a general tidy of nail trimming and shampoo'ing - added a couple of pics I found [of Mouse & Trixie's toes] - these pages hadn't been updated since 2001 - my goodness I have been slack ! Added a few grooming photos to the main Grooming Menu. Added some hopefully helpful photos to the Health Checks page !
• We have updated the 'Lost / Escaped Piggy' page - added some photos and some excellent tips sent in by Gina Booth - thankyou so much Gina, I am extremely grateful !
• Added little pics to illustrate the Piggy Checklist - the photos act as links to the relevant pages for further information.
• Updated the Health Links page - removed some outdated links and added a couple of new one's. Ah, we're getting there ! Added a few pics to the 'Is a Guinea Pig the Right Pet for Me?' page. It's amazing how quickly time flies - most of these pages I've been adding pics to have been up and untouched since late 2000 or 2001 - oh and while we're at it, there's a few additions to the Facts & Figures page and a few pictures added to the GP's and Other Pets page !
• Don't forget to check out Billy's new Cavy Alfalfabet - the ABC of the Cavy ! We're currently working a new 2nd FAQ page to list lots more of the questions we are regularly asked and we're still updating the Links sections. This update was a bit overdue wasn't it ! Other Piggy Sites and Useful Sites are pretty much done now - but there may be a few additions once I've re-organised my bookmarks ! I don't know, this site is like a bus isn't it !
• Ok - the Links pages are now thoroughly updated - the last one I've finished updating this morning - the Fun Links page - a few redundant links removed and a few new one's added including the link to the Egg adverts - aren't they fab !
• Tidied up the Breeding and Weigh Day pages - nothing major changed - updated links etc Also refreshed the 'How to Raise a Healthy Guinea Pig - Prevention is Better than Cure' page.
• Added a few 'handling' pics to the New Arrivals page.
• I've been having a little re-organise of some sections plus a few changes of colour scheme - I hope I havn't confused everyone and I've linked everything up correctly !
• The FAQ #2 page is coming along and hopefully will be loaded up soon. We also are working on 2 new pages - Edible Wild Food - and Poisonous Plants - we hope you find it useful - they are a work in progress but hopefully will be plants plus photos etc.
• I've been working on some banners as I've never had any official one's before - what do you think - I am really pleased with them !

Splat, was that you ??

So far this month whee have...

• Happy New Year !!!!
• Sorry that updates have been so few and far between, I have quite a few new pics so I just need to get organised ! I've updated the Cavy Gift Links, Rescue Links and Supplies Links pages - sorry for those who have been waiting ages for me to carry out the updates - I'm organising the links into tables now which I think is clearer than the simple lists they were in before.
• Billy and Splat send Wheeks to everyone.......xxxx
• I am in the process of updating the Piggies in the Sky section - each pig's page will eventually be accessible from the main Contents page - probably 2 pigs per page - with the existing page as the 'Menu' page - I miss looking at a lot of their piccies and feel they deserve to still be seen - it will take a while but hopefully not too long ! As part of this process the first thing I had to do was finally add Trixie to the Piggies in the Sky section, something I had been really putting off.
• Please cross your paws for little Splattie who is currently battling a URI. She's been with us nearly 5 years having arrived on Sunday 25th February 2001 - she is on her 3rd day of antibiotic and has begun eating a little again today and has produced a couple of teeny poops, so I am very encouraged.
• On the subject of Splat, we have been aware since about November that she has a large internal tumour - which unfortunately, after consulting with our vet, is not something we can do anything about. We are keeping her comfortable - which she has been - we have Metacam to give her if required - until such a time as she stops being the bright, lively, friendly, loving, happy little pig she is. I am hoping this does not hinder her recovery from the URI - all signs though are good so far.
• Billy sends a very late Valentine's kiss to Rosy [you know who you are !] and says he is making room in his double cosy for you.xxxx
• See pic above for Billy & Splat's stupendous double cosy which they absolutely live in ! This was a surprise gift from their 'granny'.
• 25th Feb: Happy 5 years with us Splat !! - She's doing well with her URI - hooray !
• We've made a few updates today - moved the Outside Pigs to the Meet Pigs section as I think it sits better there - we've also made a new Group pics page - we still have the original which is a condensed collection of the herd over the years but the new page has more recent/random pics.
• 27th Feb: Loaded 12 new pics to Billy's page ! Finally !
• Update on Splat: She was up for breakfast this morning - a huge improvement on her condition !
• I finally found 3 drawings that I thought I had lost forever lurking on my hard-drive so I have added them to the drawings page - they are fantastic !
• I'm getting a bit obsessed with updating ! I've added a new page today - Cosy Cavies ! Billy and Splat modelling a variety of cosies and also their heatpad - just right for this chilly winter weather !
• We have begun loading up the individual Piggy In The Sky pages - first up is Mouse, Squirt, then Trixie and Poppy.
