Cavy Alfalfabet - Or a Cavy A-Z or a KV-ABC !

Billy's Cavy Alfalfabet !

Before my big chunk Billy left us to go over the Rainbow Bridge he had been working on a special little project to keep his mind off eating quite so much - he was set the task of putting together a list of Cavy related things to match the alphabet - he had many ideas for it's title - The Cavy A-Z [but this only really works if you say Z as Zee not Zed!] - the KV A to Z [same thing !] the KV-ABC [he quite liked this one!] or the Pigtionary ? but the one he liked best was the Cavy Alfalfabet - [or even Alfalfabetti but that was too much like Spagetti] I'm sure it's because it had food in the title - so here we go:

G		Grapes Grass	Gestation - length of pregancy approx 60-72 days Grease Gland	Gnawing - a rodent by any other name Grooming - you may need to assist your cavy with this Guard Hairs - Longer hairs in a short haired cavy - these are manually removed for 'showing' purposes
H	Harlequin Himalayan	Hay - meadow/timothy	Hairloss - needs investigation - mites/fungal/hormonal	Haircuts - keeps nice clean bottoms on the 'hairies' Handling - gentle & regular Herbivore - plant eating Hutch - snug and spacious

M	Magpie Marked - specific colour patterns on a cavy's coat - usually white with patterns of another colour Merino	Melon	Malocclusion - misaligned teeth Milk in eye - natural fluid produced by cavy - looks just like milk - not harmful Mites Mycosis - another term for fungus	Medibed - our bedding Molars - the back teeth - these are used to grind food

U			URI Upper Respiratory Infection UTI Urinary Tract Infection
V		Vegetables	Vet - find a good one !	Vitamin C - must have this provided in their diet
W		Water - bowl/bottle - fresh	Weight - a good indicator of health - weigh your pig regulary and investigate any changes	Wheek & wheek & wheek ! Whiskers - sensitive / used for feeling way through tunnels etc Wrapping - what you need to do to a long-haired pig's hair if you want to show them to keep it clean as you can't cut it
